9. Maybe Next Year 3:06

It’s late in December the mountains are painted in white
The songs of the season are what everyone’s singing tonight
The talk turns to walks in the sand
Warm ocean breezes and tropical nights
Every year we say maybe next year

The eyes in the photograph are the only thing time hasn’t changed
The young man in the overcoat’s gone and this old man remains
He wonders how long can a lucky old fool
Keep on winning this wonderful game
Every year he says maybe next year

CHORUS
There’ll be one more dance in the moonlight
One more kiss please
You have secrets to whisper
You can tell me

We wish on a shooting star as it fires up the sky with its light
It’s gone in an instant but we keep our eyes on the night
We never wonder if wishes come true
We keep wishing with all of our might
And every year we say maybe next year
